Prof. Arnis Sauka is a professor at Stockholm School of Economics in Riga, director of the Sustainable Business Center, chairman of the Vidzeme University Council, as well as chairman of the State Competitiveness Commission. Arnis received his doctorate at the University of Siegen (Germany), worked as a visiting researcher at Jönköping International Business School (Sweden) and University College London (Great Britain). Arni's research interests include shadow economy, productive and unproductive entrepreneurship, business policy making and competitiveness, as well as the development of business processes in various institutional environments. Based on his academic research published in leading peer-reviewed journals including Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal, Journal of Business Ethics, International Small Business Journal, Journal of Comparative Economics, he actively participates in applied research. It includes the development of regular studies and consultations at the request of international organizations such as the OECD, the European Commission and Eurofound, as well as at the request of various industry associations in Latvia and abroad.
